Education
Fire Hydrant Snow Removal
- Plan to remove snow around fire hydrants via a neighborhood group after extreme (blizzard) weather event
Storm drain clearing
- Plan to clear storm drains of leaves, twigs, a couple times a year (Spring, Fall) to reduce street flooding.
Things to enhance curb appeal or property values
- Invite one or two entities that design/install outdoor lighting
- Deer resistant landscaping
- Tree planting and maintenance. (especially, as some of the trees in the neighborhood are due for replacement.)
Safety
- Invite Irondequoit PD and Fire.
Environmental/Recycling
Neighborhood paper shred day and/or electronic collection (maybe do with other neighborhood associations) at Colebrook School or Pine Grove Center or Camp Eastman.
Christmas tree pick up day to take to Helmer Nature Center
- Some folks are not able nor want (or do not realize it is an option) to take their tree to Helmer. Maybe if we have a one day collection using a town truck…..and Helmer Nature Center will let us pile the trees ahead of the mulching.
Leaf Shredding Week
- Rent for the neighborhood a leaf shredder. Some folks may want to the shredded leafs as compost or as mulch. Or, it will reduce the number of bags we see during the fall.
